Concern has been raised over the validity of Buccal swab DNA tests. This rapidly emerging method of testing is replacing other methods traditionally used for a variety of tests.
The test, executed by gently rubbing the cheeks inside of the mouth using special, long swabs that resemble Q-tips, offers many advantages over previous DNA testing methods. The Buccal cells that are removed through this process do not require refrigeration or preservatives and do not need to be immediately shipped to a testing laboratory. It is much easier to collect, no fasting is required to obtain an accurate specimen, and the collected sample is usable even after years of storage. The cells procured with this method are not affected by bacteria, toothpaste, chewing tobacco, lipstick, nursing or other products.

Buccal swabs have proven extremely useful as a method for genetic and paternity testing. As the procedure requires no needless, it is thoroughly non-invasive. The test results in little to no biohazard us waste, and has no age restriction. Through Buccal swab testing, paternity testing can be done on newborn infants. It provides a solid alternative for IV drug abusers and individuals who have had bone marrow transplants or transfusions.

Buccal swab testing is considered highly reliable. Results of professionally executed Buccal swab tests are considered court admissible, legal evidence. For anyone concerned about marital infidelity or curious about their ancestry, Buccal swab testing offers a quick, easy, and affordable solution.
