A. There are specific hand-washing areas outside of the collection room.
FAQ What constitutes a refusal to take a DOT drug test?
A. An employee is considered to have refused a drug test if any of the following apply:
  • Failure to appear for any test within a reasonable amount of time after having been directed to do so by the employer
  • Failure to remain at the testing site until the testing process is complete
  • Failure to provide a urine specimen
  • Failure to permit the observation or monitoring (if necessary) of the collection process
  • Failure to provide a sufficient amount of urine without a valid medical explanation of the failure
  • Failure to take an additional drug test requested by the employer or collector
  • Failure to undergo a medical examination or evaluation as part of the verification process
  • Failure to cooperate with any part of the testing process, including a refusal to empty pockets or wash hands
  • Confessing to adulterating or substituting the specimen
